In July 2020, Chris Taylor summarized “Every self-help book ever, boiled down to 11 simple rules.” Five years later, I’m finally posting this on my blog. Hoping to make this a series of 12 posts about flourishing… the first, just sharing his cool idea, and then eleven more with some notes and observations on each thread.
I encourage you to read his original essay, and here is a quick reference guide: (as I write subsequent posts, I’ll add links)
Take one small step.
Change your mental maps.
Struggle is good. Scary is good.
Instant judgment is bad.
Remember the end of your life.
Be playful.
Be useful to others.
Perfectionism = procrastination
Sleep, exercise, eat, chill out. Repeat.
Write it all down.
You can't get it all from reading.
Thanks to Nathan Waterhouse for bringing this to my feed a few years ago!
