Thank you Etta Jacobs, coach extraordinaire, for inviting me to join the WEST - Women in the Enterprise of Science and Technology gathering in downtown Boston last night to discuss career transitions. What a warm and welcoming community!
While I initially wrote this to share on LinkedIn, capturing here so I can add resources as I discover more.
Four Game-Changing Job Search Resources
Posting here since I didn't get to chat with everyone: (links in the comments)
1: Never Search Alone
Small groups of peers to support the emotional roller-coaster of today's job search, within a volunteer-led community based on Phyl Terry’s book. (Shout out to my JSCs #4102 and #4317). [see below for CMF]
2: StoryStrengths
Marketing whiz Adam Olenn's insightful approach to interview prep using strength based storytelling.
3: OnUpBeyond
The first resume course that helped me present my non-traditional background more effectively. Rich Rosser's method has been honed by working with over 90k ex-consultants in career transition.
4: What Color Is Your Parachute.🪂
The flower (a.k.a. "that one piece of paper") is a classic for a reason. Since 2005, I've done it more than once.
FWIW, I started trying to use AI to build an image; it SUCKED. Then I tried to take a picture of the actual things; that was confusing and I'm not a photographer (ask anyone who was at my wedding about the bad tie photos). So, this is a screenshot of a ppt. I am a fossil.

Candidate-Market Fit.
This is a great description of CMF from Aakash Gupta:
“Product-market fit is simple. You build something the market wants. If you don’t have it, nothing else matters.
Candidate-market fit works the same way. You find a role where what you offer matches exactly what the market needs.”
