EXECUTIVE COACHING

There are many reasons why you need a coach: you are new in your role or facing new leadership challenges or simply need to learn some new tricks.

Coaching can be extremely valuable in getting you to the next level of performance, helping you gain insights and become more effective, which, in turn, yields greater impact for your organization and cause. You and your coach are partners in this endeavor. You must be highly motivated to make a series of small changes, try new things and hear feedback.

Coaching is a private, ongoing conversation with a professional who understands leadership challenges and effectiveness and how people change their behaviors. The goal is to build on your strengths while learning and practicing new skills that would improve your direct impact on the organizational results. 

Coaching engagements begin with your coach exploring all s/he can to fully understand your organization and the context of your reality. The aim is to create a dynamic learning experience that uses your real time activities and encounters as your ‘lab’ for gaining new insights and practicing new behaviors. 

Typical leadership coaching engagements focus on:

  • seizing new leadership opportunities,

  • organizing for innovation,

  • managing rapid growth,

  • improving complex staff/team dynamics or

  • learning to delegate.

  1. Builds on your leadership strengths while practicing new skills: Mint Chip Studios assumes that you are already talented in many areas and that your reality is quite complex. We provide support and embellishments for those things that are going well and help you use those strengths in very complicated situations. Likewise we offer practical and specific suggestions for different approaches that can be more effective in your circumstances. You will try new skills and practice them privately before trying them in the real world.

  2. Leads to observable and effective actions: Experimentation with new actions eventually leads to new habits that become evident to your staff, board and partners. It is only through new actions that you will achieve greater impact.

  3. Provides a safe context for learning: The “lonely at the top” adage is all too true. Leaders need a safe, non-judgmental space to air ideas and feelings to sort out which path to take. Mint Chip Studios coaches are sticklers for confidentiality and will earn your trust and confidence.

DETAILS

The cost of each engagement is negotiated individually. Most contracts are six months to start. Our coaching services feature:

  • Clearly defined goals and anticipated outcomes. This provides focus to the coaching and an expectation of observable new actions. This is not just an internal, introspective process.

  • Six months, 1.5 hours twice a month conversations and unlimited phone and email access.

  • Customized logistics. When possible the meetings take place face to face. To keep expenses reasonable and time commitments sane we conduct the majority of our coaching virtually using whichever platform works best for you.

  • Feedback tools. We encourage clients to receive feedback from people they interact with frequently to gauge success. We conduct one-on-one interviews with a select few or more extensive surveys at an additional fee.

  • Team coaching. If, in the course of individual coaching, you and your coach determine that the entire leadership team needs to perform differently you can contract for additional help.
